Orestimba placed first in the varsity women’s Southern League cross country championships Friday. Orestimba turned in a strong showing at the Southern League cross country finals held Friday at Legion-Tuolumne Regional Park in Modesto.

Orestimba’s varsity women’s team defeated Waterford for the league championship, while the Orestimba varsity men’s team placed second in the finals.

Senior Madeline Tree was the Southern League women’s champion and league MVP. Melony Garcia and Parker Sharpe each claimed all-league honors with a top five finish.

Joshua Hurlock turned in a top five finish for the Orestimba men to also qualify for all-league honors.

Orestimba’s junior varsity men’s team also claimed top honors in the finals.
