Orestimba’s Tryston Martens delivers to a Ripon Christian hitter in varsity Southern League baseball action last week.

Orestimba suffered a sweep of two Southern League baseball games at the hands of Ripon Christian last week.

The Knights capped the sweep with a 10-3 win Thursday afternoon on the Warriors’ diamond.

The game was out of hand early, as Ripon Christian plated eight runs before the Warriors were able to get off the field in the top of the first.

Orestimba got two runs back in the bottom of the frame as Auston Martens, Jacob Bettencourt, Jacob Dominguez and Ethan Medeiros led off the game with consecutive base hits.

The Warriors collected their final run in the fifth when Dominguez singled and circled the bases to score.

Bettencourt and Dominguez each had two hits for the Warriors.

Orestimba jumped out to an early lead with a first-inning run in the series opener last Wednesday, only to see the Knights take over from that point.

Martens drew a walk to lead off the game and eventually scored on a Medeiros single.

Ripon Christian drew even with a run in the bottom of the first, and then plated four in the second to take a 5-1 lead.

The Warriors had an opportunity to carve into the Ripon Christian lead in the seventh when base hits by Medeiros and Xavier Avila put two runners aboard with just one out, but were unable to capitalize.

Medeiros and Jose Morales each had two hits for the Warriors.

Orestimba fell to 3-3 in Southern League play with the losses.
