OHS wrestling

Orestimba wrestlers took part in a Dec. 21 tournament at Pacheco High School in Los Banos before heading into winter break.

Nine out of 15 Warrior wrestlers competing came home with medals.

First-place finishers in their respective weight divisions were Jacob Garcia, Kai Brazil, Maciel Martinez and Gerardo Torres.

Elijah Vasquez placed second, while Guillermo Navarro, Anthony Casillas, Joseph Flores and Shiloh Croffoot each placed third in their division.

Rafael Gonzalez, Mario Gonzalez, Chance Ashley, Anthony Walsh, Mickey Ebert and Joshua Halloran also competed for Orestimba.

Gustine baseball/softball

Gustine Youth Baseball/Softball will host sign-ups Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pizza Factory and Friday, Jan. 17, from 6-9 p.m. at Rise Up Nutrition.

The program is open to players ages 4-14 (age as of April 30 for boys, Jan. 1 for girls).

A copy of birth certificate is required at registration.

Crows Landing baseball/softball

The Crows Landing youth baseball/softball program will accept registration Saturdays, Jan. 11 (9 a.m. to noon) and Jan. 18 (noon to 4 p.m.) at the Crows Landing fire station.

Divisions include tee-ball (4-6); PeeWee baseball and softball (7-8), Minors baseball and softball (9-10); Majors baseball and softball (11-12); and Pony baseball/Seniors softball (13-14). Girls must be of age by Jan. 1; boys by April 30. Birth certificate required for new players.

Newman youth baseball/softball

Newman Youth Baseball/Softball will host final registration sessions for the 2020 season Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9-11 a.m. at the community meeting room (1200 Main St.) and Thursday, Jan. 16, from 6-8 at Pizza Place (914 Fresno St.)

Age divisions include tee-ball (4-6, 4-year-olds must have a parent assistant for the team), pee wee (7-8), minors (9-10), majors (11-12) and pony/seniors (13-14). Boys must meet age requirement as of April 1; girls 7 and older and 4-year-old tee-ball players must meet age requirement as of Jan. 1.

Copy of birth certificate and payment are required at time of registration.

The program is also seeking volunteers and coaches.
