Orestimba earned a pair of critical Southern League victories last week to strengthen its hold on second place in the league standings.
The Warriors turned back Mariposa and Le Grand to improve to 7-2 in league play, trailing only unbeaten Denair.
“Both were big wins that get us one step closer to making the playoffs,” said head coach Charlie Kothenbeutel. “Against Mariposa we did a great job applying pressure and forcing turnovers, which helped our transition game. The Le Grand win was big because it was on the road in a tough place to play. We really got a balanced effort from the entire team.
