Break out the Aqua Net and dust off your leg warmers—Newman’s West Side Theatre is about to get totally tubular. On Saturday, Oct. 18, the stage will be drenched in neon and nostalgia as Flock of Seagirls, California’s premier all-female ‘80s tribute band, brings their high-energy show to town.
From punk to pop, new wave to glam, Flock of Seagirls honors the fierce women who ruled the MTV era. Expect a nonstop parade of hits from icons like Madonna, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, The Bangles, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Cher, and more. If you’ve ever belted out “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” in your car or danced like nobody’s watching to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” this is your night.
The band’s lineup is stacked with talent and personality. Lead vocalist Stephanie brings powerhouse vocals and stage presence honed over thousands of performances. Guitarist Lauren doubles as a keytar queen and resident pun-slinger. Melne shreds on lead guitar with jazz-school finesse and punk-rock roots. Jen holds down the bass with Go-Go’s cred and punk pedigree. Gogo (yes, that’s her name) sparkles on keys and keytar, while Karla Downey drives the beat with decades of drumming and vocal chops.
Together, they’ve played everywhere from the USS Hornet to Pride festivals across California—and now they’re ready to turn Main Street into memory lane.
Flock of Seagirls doesn’t just pay tribute to the women of the ’80s—they bring their biggest hits roaring back to life.
