NEWMAN — Families in Newman will have the chance to enjoy engaging, interactive performances at the local library this summer as part of the Stanislaus County Library’s annual Summer Performer Series.

On June 3 at 3:30 p.m., the Newman Library will welcome Didgeridoo Down Under, a lively show that blends didgeridoo rhythms, percussive beats, storytelling, and audience participation. Attendees will learn about Australian music, the history of the didgeridoo, and how the instruments are made.

Later in the season, Cruzin’ Critters will visit Newman on July 15 at 3:30 p.m., offering an up-close look at fascinating creatures from the animal kingdom. The nonprofit animal education group will introduce audiences to their “animal ambassadors” in a hands-on program that teaches about wildlife and conservation.

The Stanislaus County Library’s Summer Performer Series is designed to spark curiosity and encourage families to learn together through engaging experiences. Events are free to attend and sponsored by the Stanislaus Library Foundation.

“These events reflect our commitment to our roles as a cultural center and community hub,” said Children’s and Teen Services librarian Jessica Geiss. “Families will have opportunities to learn together and connect through experiences that are as educational as they are entertaining.”

The performer series is part of the library’s larger Summer Reading Challenge, which encourages children to read throughout the summer while enjoying special programs.

Event registration and additional details can be found on the library’s online calendar at www.stanlibrary.org.
