2024 is here, welcoming Gustine FFA members to this new year with Judging Teams, Speaking competitions, and more!
Judging Teams
The beginning of the year starts with the introductions to the judging teams that Gustine FFA offers. Judging teams like meats, soil, floral, and more are available for members to participate in. Being involved in a judging team allows the student to acquire a new skill, whether grading meat, judging livestock, or creating a boutonniere. Being part of a judging team takes dedication, time, and much effort. Through Gustine FFA, the ability to hone in on these different types of skills is not just for success in competitions, but for success in the member’s future.
Super Saturday
On Jan. 27, eight Gustine FFA members attended the Merced-mariposa FFA sectional speaking competitions, also known as Super Saturday. Gustine FFA had members competing in extemporaneous speaking, impromptu speaking, job interviews, prepared speaking, the FFA creed, and the Spanish FFA creed. The morning was filled with excited conversations and eager anticipation for results. Gustine FFA is proud to announce that four of our members will be moving onto the regional levels!
Mikayla Silveira placed second in the sectional extemporaneous speaking contest.
Carlos Rangel placed first in the sectional Spanish FFA Creed contest
Oscar Vergara placed third in the sectional Spanish FFA Creed contest
Carson Bell placed first in the sectional FFA Creed contest.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and best of luck to those advancing to regionals!
Dinner Dance
The Gustine FFA Ag Boosters thank everyone who generously contributed to the Annual Ag Booster’s Dinner Dance. Support from local businesses and community members played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this fundraiser.
The annual Ag Booster Dinner Dance was hosted on January 27th with the help of volunteering students and parents. The money from the fundraiser is being used to create endless opportunities for Gustine FFA members. From a simple field day to a trip like the National FFA Convention, the funds raised go straight back into the students’ future.
Gustine FFA would like to thank the community for continuously supporting the future and success of Gustine FFA members.
