Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 23 calls for service from Jan. 16 to Jan. 22. The calls included 18 for Emergency Medical Services, one vehicle fire, one wire down, two vehicle collisions, and one hazardous waste call.

On January 16, at 11:48 a.m., the Newman Station was dispatched for a rolled-over vehicle on Interstate 5 and Davis Road. On arrival, the fire crew found a semi-truck that had gone off the roadway with one occupant, who had sustained minor injuries. The cause and damages were not reported.

On January 16, at 8:25 p.m., the Newman Station was dispatched for a vehicle fire on Interstate 5 and Fink Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a semi-truck trailer engulfed in flames. The fire crews worked diligently to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries. The damages and cause were not reported.

On January 18, at 4:17 a.m., the Newman Station was dispatched for a wire down call on Villa Manucha Road. On arrival, the fire crews found a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a power pole. The occupant had no injuries, and the extent of the damage was unknown. The cause of the vehicle accident was determined to be a distracted driver.

 

Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Department responded to 15 calls for service from Jan. 19 to Jan. 23. The calls included nine for Emergency Medical Services, three fire calls, one vehicle collision and two public assists.
