Kelsy Ramos, the 44-year-old Newman resident who mysteriously disappeared on Friday, was found deceased on Monday, the Turlock Police Department reported.

Ramos was last seen leaving her job on Joett Drive in Turlock, driving her white 2017 Nissan Versa alone. It was later spotted in Fresno.

The last known communication with Ramos was a phone call with a friend at 11:45 a.m. on Friday morning. Since then, her phone had been inactive, leading her family to believe it was either turned off or had run out of battery. This is highly unusual for Ramos, who consistently keeps her phone charged due to her work in healthcare. Her mother expressed deep concern, saying, "This is out of the ordinary for her not to call."

The Turlock Police Department began investigating her disappearance and on Monday made the announcement of her death.

“Earlier today, we were contacted by the Selma Police Department, who were investigating a call involving a deceased person,” the Turlock Police Department stated in a news release. “The individual matched the description of our missing person. Turlock detectives traveled to Selma and confirmed the identity of Kelsy Ramos.”

Turlock detectives worked closely with investigators from the Selma Police Department, and together they determined there was no indication of foul play at the scene. The Selma Police Department will continue leading the death investigation, and the official cause of death will be determined pending coroner and toxicology reports.

“To Kelsy’s family, friends, and loved ones—our hearts are with you,” the police department stated. “We ask our community to join us in lifting them up during this incredibly difficult time.”

Ramos was described as a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and her disappearance and silence was completely out of the ordinary for her, according to her family.

Her sister noted that Ramos was known for her vibrant personality, stating during an interview, "Kelsy always stands out in a crowd, she is beautiful and does not have an inside voice."

The family took to online and the real world to spread the word about Kelsy’s disappearance by putting up missing flyers and starting a find Kelsy Ramos page, all of which resulted in numerous tips to law enforcement. Adding to their urgency, Ramos’ family revealed that she had a medical condition requiring medication that she did not have with her.

Ramos was a graduate of Orestimba High School and grew up on the Westside. She earned her LVN at Gurnick Academy.
