Deolinda Bento
Feb. 26, 1958 – Dec. 4, 2025
Deolinda Bento

Deolinda Bento, a fiercely independent and free-spirited woman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Hughson, California, at the age of 67.

Born on February 26, 1958, in Newman, California, Deolinda spent her early life growing up on a local dairy farm, a foundation that instilled in her a deep connection to the land and the outdoors.

Deolinda was defined by her love for nature and the mountains. She spent as much time as possible exploring the wilderness, where she enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting rocks. A true animal lover, she held a special place in her heart for her dogs, often joking that she preferred their company to people.

Professionally, Deolinda was a dedicated and hard worker, spending many years as a butcher at both Diamond Foods and Lloyd’s, where she earned the respect of her colleagues. Upon retiring, she resided primarily in Crows Landing but spent her happiest months at a beloved cabin in the mountains, fully immersed in the activities she enjoyed most.

Deolinda is preceded in death by her parents, Manual J. Santos and Erma M. Santos, and son Nathan J. Bento and  is survived by her loving children: Joshua D. Walton, Bernadette Elizabeth Marquez, and Laura Lenae Espitia. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Katelyn, Jacob, Lionel, and Leonardo, and one beloved great-grandchild, who will all carry forward her spirit of adventure.

A Celebration of Life

In keeping with Deolinda’s love for nature and renewal, her family will host a celebration of her life in Jamestown, California, in the Spring of 2026, when the mountains come alive and everything begins to grow.
