Melvin David Cardoza Jr. “Sharky”, was born March 27, 1957 at Del Puerto hospital in Patterson, CA, and passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025 in Stevenson, CA. He is survived by his son, Kyle Cardoza; daughter, Erin Cardoza; sisters, Cathy Mendonca, Patti Hill & Debbie Smith; brothers, Andy Cardoza, Ricky Cardoza & many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dixie Lee Cardoza & Melvin David Cardoza Sr. 

Melvin was raised on the family dairy in Santa Nella, CA, and lived most of his life in Gustine. He was a cowboy and considered himself to be a “horse whisperer”. His love for the outdoors led him to take any opportunity he could get to ride his horse, go roping, hunting or fishing. He worked as a commercial & residential carpenter for 50 years. He was a talented craftsman & enjoyed woodworking, making knives, spurs, furniture and specially crafted gifts for loved ones. Melvin will be dearly missed by his family & friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday,
December 29, 2025 at the Hillview Funeral Chapels in Gustine.
