In their singles matches, Mirella Fregoso and Ashlynn Bell continued their hot start to the season. Fregoso won her singles match against Tanishka Singh, 6-1, 6-1. Following her was Bell, who held Laasya M. scoreless in her two-set win, 6-0, 6-0.
Fregoso and Bell stay undefeated in their singles matchups at 8-0 each. While the hot start can be captivating, head coach Nolan Osborn said it’s a testament to both players’ experience from both players to play at a high level.
“They have the knowledge and experience to be able to play solid tennis,” Osborn said about Fregoso and Bell. “On top of that, I would say it’s really just [their] discipline. I mean day in, day out. They don’t back down.”
In the boys singles, Orestimba’s Aaron Gallardo and Kevin Rodriguez won their matchup against Karthikeya Vutla and Monish Raja, 6-4, 7-5. Afterwards Jose Rodriguez and Nabeel Ali completed the Warriors sweep in the section, winning 6-4, 7-6.

With Orestimba being a spot behind Hughson, Osborn said Tuesday’s contest is a “must win” with possible postseason implications.
