NEWMAN – There were members of the Orestimba High boys volleyball team who had strong performances against the Ripon Christian High squad in Wednesday’s Trans-Valley League match.
But the visiting Knights left Stanislaus County with a 3-0 win; the final scores were 25-6, 25-8, 25-9.
Ethan Costa had four kills for Orestimba (1-6 in the TVL, 4-15 overall). Cade Lobo had eight of the Warriors’ 13 digs, while teammates Miguel Hernandez and Bryant Badong had two each. Badong, who is a freshman, also had six assists.
Ripon Christian improved to 9-0 in the TVL, alone in first place, and 14-7 overall.
Big Valley Christian 3, Orestimba 0
In a March 30 contest inside the Warriors’ gym, Big Valley won in straight sets at 25-9, 25-20, 25-15.
Costa recorded six kills in the match.
Lobo also had eight digs in this TVL contest. Badong followed with five and eight assists. Steven Aguilar finished with four digs.
Upcoming matches
On Monday, Orestimba continues TVL action at Escalon. This is the Warriors’ only match of the week.
On Monday, April 13, the Warriors are back in action hosting Riverbank at 6 p.m.
