The Gustine Aquatics Center at Henry Miller Park is making quite a splash this summer, becoming the go-to spot for local families looking to beat the heat and build memories. With crowds growing every week, the pool has been filled with laughter, splashing, and a strong sense of community pride as residents of all ages come together for some well-deserved summer fun.

A big wave of excitement is building around the center’s upcoming Movie Night series. The City of Gustine is transforming the pool into an open-air cinema, where guests can float under the stars or cozy up poolside to enjoy their favorite films. With a $4 entry fee and a schedule packed with movies like Shark Tale, The Sandlot, Yes Day, and Monsters University, the Aquatics Center is gearing up for one of its most exciting summers yet.

Lucas Rodriguez, 8, shared his excitement: “I’ve never watched a movie while swimming! I’m counting down the days.”

Jessica Morana, a local mom of three, said, “My kids have been talking about this nonstop. We already circled all the movie nights on our calendar. It’s such a fun idea.”

Twelve-year-old Elena Thomson added, “I’m bringing my floaties and snacks! My friends and I are planning to come to all of them—especially for Monsters University.”

Even adults are looking forward to the fun. Raymond Guzman, a longtime Gustine resident, noted, “I’ve seen a lot of summers in this town, and this might be the best one yet. These movie nights are a great way to bring people together.”

It’s not just the chance to see movies that are attracting people to the pool. It’s the chance to cool off in the high heat. The program will have recreation swim times from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays in July, with a $4 entry fee.

There are also aqua workout sessions and lap swimming sessions for adults.

Tiffany Vitorino, Recreation Coordinator for the City of Gustine, shared her enthusiasm:

“We’ve been thrilled to see how many families are excited about the pool and the upcoming movie nights. The energy this summer has been incredible, and we’re looking forward to making even more memories with everyone in the weeks ahead.”

With the option to rent the pool for private parties on Saturdays, a strong team of dedicated lifeguards, and its prime location in Henry Miller Park, the Gustine Aquatics Center continues to shine as a summer hotspot. Whether you’re coming to swim, celebrate, or soak in a movie under the stars, there’s no better place to be in Gustine this season.
