GUSTINE—A sea of proud families and excited graduates filled the stadium Saturday evening as Gustine High School’s Class of 2025 celebrated their commencement with a ceremony marked by heartfelt speeches, laughter, and bittersweet goodbyes.

Valedictorian Crystal Sanchez Castro delivered a confident and captivating address, drawing both tears and smiles from the audience with her powerful reflections on perseverance and achievement. Salutatorian Anahi Alvarez followed with a moving speech, expressing deep gratitude to her teachers, family, and faith. “We owe it all to him,” she said, a sentiment that resonated with many in attendance.

Principal Adam Cano offered a brief but meaningful message, wishing the graduates success before officially declaring their commencement. Members of the school board then took turns awarding diplomas, pausing for photos with each beaming student.

The ceremony was a mix of joy and nostalgia, encapsulated by one parent’s reflection: “It is always a bittersweet moment, but we know they have to spread their wings.”
