After a short closure and swirling rumors of a permanent shutdown, L & E Café is officially reopening—and it’s coming back better than ever. A sign now hangs in the window letting customers know the wait is almost over.
Known for its hearty chicken plates, stacked sandwiches, and friendly neighborhood vibe, L & E quickly became a favorite stop for locals after it opened its doors. While some worried the café might not return, the owners have been busy remodeling the space, making it more comfortable and welcoming for families and regulars alike.
“I’m so excited to get back in there,” said Jessica Navarro, a Gustine resident. “Their BBQ rib plate is my go-to, and you just can’t beat the hometown feel.”
With a fresh layout and some new touches, the café is aiming to provide a better experience while keeping the menu items that helped build its loyal customer base.
“I missed their chicken sandwiches during lunch breaks,” shared Anthony Ramirez, who works nearby in Newman. “They serve the kind of food that hits the spot—simple, flavorful, and filling.”
Even kids are ready for its return. “It’s my favorite place for chicken for dinner and when they have breakfast sandwiches my dad really likes to get them a lot ,” said 6 year old Edgar Silva.
With excitement building, one thing is clear—L & E Café’s reopening is great news for Gustine. Keep an eye out—the doors will be opening soon, and the sandwiches and ribs will be hot off the grill.
