Stanislaus County Supervisor Channce Condit proudly recognized Loveada Fresquez of Newman as the 2025 District Five Senior Citizen of the Year for her extraordinary dedication to serving older adults in her community.
Fresquez has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the well-being of seniors on the West Side of Stanislaus County through numerous volunteer activities, including founding and leading the Orestimba 50+ Club in Newman and delivering meals to dozens of seniors throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her efforts to foster connection and joy among seniors include organizing Thanksgiving and Easter celebrations, leading Bingo programs and holiday events, and volunteering at the Westside Theatre. Fresquez also provides critical support by helping seniors with transportation and organizing social outings.
“Mrs. Fresquez’s service is a testament to the power of compassion and community spirit,” said Supervisor Condit. “Her work has touched countless lives and exemplifies the values we hold dear in District Five.”
“I do what comes from the heart and my pay back is 10 times what I give,” Fresquez said of the honor. “The warm smile and hugs keep me going.”
A long-time Newman resident, Fresquez shares five children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandson with her husband, Richard Gaytan. Her lifetime of service and care continues to inspire her neighbors and bring joy to the community.
