NEWMAN, Calif. — The Newman Downtown Market is set to make its return this June, bringing a lively mix of food, crafts, and entertainment to the city’s downtown plaza. The market will take place every Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering residents and visitors a chance to explore local vendors and enjoy community festivities.
Organized by the Newman Chamber of Commerce, the market will feature a variety of food vendors, including Woody’s, El Azteca, Big Al’s, Kona Ice, and Yogurt Mill, among others. In total, 26 vendors and informational booths have signed up so far, with several new artisan vendors expected to make their debut.
Michael Passarelli, president of the Newman Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of the market in fostering local business and community engagement, saying organizers are excited to welcome new artisan vendors this year and continue providing a space for local businesses and organizations to connect with the community.
While the food vendor application period has closed, the Chamber is still accepting applications for craft vendors, organizations, and entertainment. DJ Guzman is scheduled to provide music, with additional entertainment options still being finalized.
A highlight of this year’s market will be the car show on June 27, featuring members of the Westside Auto Club. The event is expected to draw classic car enthusiasts and add another layer of excitement to the market’s offerings.
The Newman Downtown Market has long been a staple of the city’s summer events, providing a space for residents to shop, dine, and enjoy live entertainment in the heart of downtown. With a mix of returning favorites and new additions, organizers hope to continue the tradition of bringing the community together.
