Volleyball and Pickleball Leagues

Kiyo Yamamoto is starting recreational co-ed leagues for the summer in volleyball and pickleball.

Both leagues will be meeting at the Yolo gym.

Volleyball will be on Tuesdays, June 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Pickleball will be on Thursdays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26. Beginners will play from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and open session will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There are no fees for either league. All players must be 18 years or older and out of high school.

Native Sons of the Golden West

The Native Sons of the Golden West will have their next dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 5 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Gustine. Members and guests may come at 5 p.m. to visit and play cards. Soccer Registration

The City of Newman is accepting registration for kids’ soccer through May 30. The fee is $75 with an additional $10 for those not in the Newman Crows Landing Unified School District.

Participants must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 and if 14, must still be in 8th grade.

Games will start Sept. 6 at Sherman Park. Late registration is June 2 to June 13 and there is a $10 late fee.

The league also is looking for volunteer coaches.

Youth Football and Cheer

The Newman Warriors Youth Football and Cheer have started their open registration for the upcoming season.

Live dates at Crema y Nata are set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 30 and 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. May 31.

Cheerleader fees are $600 and football fees are $350.
