WESTLEY — A man was killed on Feb. 10 in the afternoon in a six‑vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 just north of Ingram Creek Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials said the collision was reported at about 4:14 p.m. Emergency crews arrived to find multiple vehicles with crash‑related damage. The driver of a 2018 Toyota pickup, an unidentified adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Toyota pickup was traveling in the slow lane approaching stopped traffic on the right shoulder. The pickup sideswiped the left rear of a 2018 Toyota SUV, pushing it into a 2021 Subaru SUV. The pickup continued south, striking the left side of a 2006 Honda sedan and a 1998 Acura sedan before colliding with the rear of a stopped 2015 Freightliner combination vehicle.

CHP said the driver of the Toyota pickup was not wearing a seat belt. Investigators have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The slow lane of southbound I‑5 was temporarily closed while officers investigated.

The collision remains under investigation.
