Gustine Fire Department

The Gustine Fire Department responded to 22 calls from May 12 to May 19. The calls included 12 for Emergency Medical Services, two motor vehicle collisions, one residential alarm, two commercial alarms, two vegetation fires, one carbon monoxide alarm, one debris fire and one passenger vehicle fire.

 

Newman Fire Department

The Newman Fire Station responded to 26 calls for service from May 16 to May 22. The calls included 13 for Emergency Medical Services, four public assists, four vegetation fires, one mutual aid call, one unknown fire, one smoke check call, one call of wires down, and one false alarm call.

At 3:40 p.m. on May 16, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vegetation fire near N Street and Inyo Street. Upon arrival, the fire crews discovered a trash pile with vegetation on fire. The fire crews quickly extinguished the flames, and the cause is under investigation. There were no reported injuries or damages.

At 12:54 p.m. on May 19, the Newman Station was dispatched for a mutual aid response to a compost fire in the 3400 Block of Gaffery Road. Upon arrival, the fire crews were tasked with providing manpower to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire and any damage is under investigation. There were no reports of injuries.

At 11:25 a.m. on May 19, the Newman Station was dispatched for a vegetation fire near the 7200 block of Crows Landing Road. Upon arrival, the fire crews were assigned to provide manpower to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no noted injuries or damages at the time of the report.
