Newman Fire
The Newman Fire Station responded to 29 calls for service from July 19 to July 25. The calls included 20 for Emergency Medical Services, six vegetation fires, one public assist, one mutual aid and one assist to another agency.
At 5:42 p.m. on July 21, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched to provide automatic aid for a vegetation fire on Del Puerto Canyon Road in Patterson. The fire crews were assigned to fire attack on arrival as part of the division. The crew was attached to the incident for approximately five hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by CAL-Fire. A firefighter sustained minor injuries during the incident and was transported to the local emergency room. No damage estimate was provided at the time of this report.
At 3:58 p.m. on July 25, the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a motor vehicle collision on Hills Ferry Road near Kelly Road. The fire crew provided automatic aid to the Merced County Fire Department. The damages were severe, and there were minor injuries reported.
