Fire calls Nov. 21 to Nov. 25

The Newman Fire Station responded to 19 calls for service from Nov. 21 to Nov. 25. The calls included 15 for Emergency Medical Services, one potential structure fire, one fire alarm call and two calls to assist other agencies.

On November 22, at 12:38 p.m., the Newman Station was dispatched for a potential structure fire near the 1000 block of Balsam Drive. On arrival, the fire crews found a stove fire with the residence full of smoke. The fire crew quickly extinguished the fire and secured the appliance. There were no injuries, and only minor damage was reported.
