Newman Police
The Newman Police Department received 65 calls for service and reported 131 officer-initiated calls from Feb. 9 to Feb. 15.
The department opened 18 cases and had 13 arrests. The department issued 15 traffic citations, three criminal citations, 14 parking citations and two animal citations. Two vehicles were towed.
Arrests
Crystal Boswell, 39, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 9 for a warrant.
Adam Torres, 35, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 9 for a warrant.
A 31-year-old Newman woman was arrested on Feb. 11 for battery on a spouse.
Nathan Powell, 39, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 13 for possession of a shopping cart, abandoning a shopping cart, possession of a shopping cart not in a retail area and littering.
Ramon Aguilar, 41, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 13 for a warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 17-year-old Newman boy was arrested on Feb. 15 for making a false report of an emergency.
Marcus Avila, 37, of Crows Landing was arrested on Feb. 15 for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in vehicle.
Amanda Spinelli, 35, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 15 for carrying a concealed weapon on person and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle or on a person.

Arrests
George Isaac Luna, 33, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the area of Highway 33 and Canal School for DUI, DUI of .08 or more, speeding and driving without a license.
Theresa Lynn Casella, 38, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. on Feb. 15 in the 2800 block of Grove Avenue for failure to provide basic child care.
