Gustine Police Department

Gustine police log notes thefts, misdemeanor offenses

The Gustine Police Department reported several incidents during the week of Nov. 21–28.

  • On Nov. 23 at 5:08 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of South Avenue for a reported felony theft.
  • Earlier that day, at 9:08 a.m., police investigated a misdemeanor offense near 4th Street and 2nd Avenue.
  • On Nov. 27 at 9:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a misdemeanor violation involving a domestic violence court order.
  • On Nov. 24 at 1:35 p.m., police responded to a theft call in the 300 block of Wallis Avenue. The call was closed at 2:08 p.m. with the disposition noted as “detail complete.”

Arrests

Yailin Alvarado, 28, was arrested at 9:24 a.m. Nov. 23 in the area of 4th Street and 2nd Avenue for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

 

Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 51 calls for service and reported 77 officer-initiated calls for a total of 128 incidents from Nov. 21 to Nov. 25. The department opened 16 cases and made 12 arrests.

The department issued eight traffic citations, two criminal citations, and had five vehicles towed.

 

Newman police report DUI, felony warrant arrests

Police in Newman reported several arrests and citations during recent patrols.

Luis Vasquez Aguilar was cited after officers determined he was driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent. Police said he was also driving on a suspended license. He and his vehicle were released to a responsible adult at the scene.

Juan Carlos Lopez was arrested on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance with more than two prior offenses.

Sheldon Linhares was stopped by officers near Hills Ferry and Sherman Parkway after traveling about 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. Police said Linhares had a confirmed felony warrant for fraud. He was cited for speeding and driving with an expired license before being booked on the warrant.

Fernando Fernandez Gudino was taken into custody after officers observed him driving erratically near Inyo and 5th streets. Police said he attempted to flee on foot but fell. He was found to have two warrants related to driving with a suspended license for DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more. During the investigation, he blew a 0.19 percent BAC. He was booked on charges of DUI, driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest and the two warrants.

 

Arrests

 

Marisol Maldonado, 37, of Livingston was arrested on Nov. 21 for driving with a license suspended for DUI.

Luis Vasquez Aguilar, 23, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 21 for driving with a license suspended or revoked, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, and driving under the influence.
Juan Carlos Lopez, 46, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 22 for a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County.
Sheldon Linhares, 46, of Turlock was arrested on Nov. 22 for unlicensed driving and a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County.
Pierre Arretche, 58, of Modesto was arrested on Nov. 22 for a misdemeanor warrant out of Stanislaus County.
Fernando Fernandez Gudino, 30, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 22 for two misdemeanor warrants out of Stanislaus County, driving with a license suspended for DUI, obstructing or resisting an officer, and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more.
