Newman Police Department
The Newman Police Department received 71 calls for service and reported 115 officer-initiated calls for a total of 186 incidents from Nov. 26 to Dec. 4.
The department opened 29 cases and made 19 arrests. The department issued 21 traffic citations, four criminal citations and three parking citations and towed two vehicles.
Arrests
- Daniel Young, 36, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 28 for drive with license suspended for DUI (misd).
- Edgar Vazquez, 43, of Newman was arrested on Nov. 29 for possession of controlled substance (misd).
- Alejandro Calzada Murga, 41, of Los Banos was arrested on Nov. 30 for possession of controlled substance (misd) and possession of drug paraphernalia (misd).
- Maria Manzo, 36, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 2 for warrant arrest–Stanislaus County (fel).
- Lauren Espinoza, 30, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 2 for warrant arrest–Stanislaus County (misd).
- Silverio Sandoval, 44, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 2 for drive with license suspended for DUI (misd) and warrant arrest–Merced County (misd).
- Urbano Garcia, 32, of Newman was arrested on Dec. 3 for drive with license suspended for DUI (misd) and restricted driver operate vehicle w/o interlock (misd).

Gustine Police Report Weekly Activity
Gustine police responded to several incidents between Nov. 28 and Dec. 4, including misdemeanor and felony offenses.
- On Nov. 28, officers investigated a contempt of court case involving disobedience of a court order in the 200 block of Jensen Road.
- On Nov. 29, police responded to Vaz Rentals in the 300 block of 5th Street for a violation of a domestic violence court order, classified as a misdemeanor.
- On Dec. 3, officers were dispatched to Payne Avenue and Arbor Pointe Avenue, where a felony assault was reported. The case involved inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and violation of a court order.
- Also on Dec. 3, police responded to a burglar alarm in the 200 block of 2nd Street. The call was closed within 10 minutes and determined to be a false alarm.
- On Dec. 4, officers investigated another contempt of court case in the 200 block of 1st Street.
Police said all cases have been documented and assigned case numbers.
Arrests
Danny Guzman, 22, was arrested at 9:23 PM on Dec. 3 in the area of Payne Avenue and Arbor Pointe for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/dating relationship (felony) and violating a court order related to domestic violence (misdemeanor).
