NEWMAN — A coordinated probation compliance operation conducted Oct. 4 by Stanislaus County Probation Officers and Newman Police resulted in multiple arrests and an unrelated vehicle pursuit through the outskirts of town, authorities said.

Officers searched five residences in the City of Newman as part of the operation. Floyd Snell Jr. was arrested under violation of his probation resulting in a flash incarceration. Steve Carmona Mendoza was taken into custody on a felony warrant. Geovan Garcia was arrested for possession of pepper spray.

Following the conclusion of the probation searches, Officer Gomez attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle unrelated to the operation. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Jesus Trigueros Rodriguez of Newman, failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit before stopping in the 1300 block of Tamarack Court.

Inside the vehicle, officers located a loaded firearm, which Trigueros Rodriguez was prohibited from possessing due to his criminal history. He was also found to have three outstanding felony warrants and was in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Trigueros Rodriguez was arrested on multiple charges and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
