city of gustine

GUSTINE—The Gustine City Council will hold a public hearing on June 3 to review annual assessments for the city’s three assessment districts: Citywide District No. 95-1, Southport Assessment District, and Borrelli Assessment District.

The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Gustine City Council Chambers, 352 Fifth Street, will allow residents to voice their concerns about the proposed assessments for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The assessments collected from properties within these districts fund the continued maintenance of lighting and landscaping improvements. Engineer of Work Mario Gouveia of Gouveia Engineering, Inc., has completed the annual report detailing the assessments, which was filed with the City Clerk.

For Citywide District No. 95-1, property owners will be assessed $110.64 per residential unit, an increase of $2.00 from the previous year. The Southport Assessment District assessment remains unchanged at $47.10 per residential unit, while Borrelli Assessment District assessments will rise to $239.08 per residential unit, a $5.60 increase.

During the June 3 hearing, residents can submit written protests, stating their objections and identifying their properties. The hearing marks the final step in the assessment process, after which the council is expected to adopt the annual Engineer’s Report and confirm the new assessments.
