David Victor Fraga was born January 12, 1935 in Oakland, California. He graduated from Orestimba High School in 1953, he was a member of the football and baseball team and lettered in football. He was also a member of the FFA where he received a number of awards and championships. He married his wife of 67 years, Elvera Marie Baptist on July 27, 1957. In 1962 he was honorably discharged from the Army with the rank of Sergeant.
David was a member of many clubs and organizations including the S.I.R.S, The American Legion, Central Valley Drag Boat Association and Ghost Riders Camper Club. He has many hobbies and enjoyed camping with family and friends, racing drag boats, riding sand rails, dune buggies and quads at Pismo Beach, he even donated 5 gallons of blood throughout his lifetime. He loved playing cards with friends and reading stories to his great grandchildren as he was an avid story teller and historian. He was also a talented wood worker and loved to create new projects.
Mr. Fraga is survived by his wife, Elvera Fraga; children, Linda Fraga-Cross, Laura Goulart (Tony) and Mary Ann Lewis (Garret); grandchildren, Amanda Goulart, Kaitlin Colvin (Mitchell) and David Clark (Becca); great grandchildren, Colten Clark, Kara Clark, Cooper Colvin and Eleanor Colvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Angelina Fraga; granddaughter, Cara Clark and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 8:30am to 10:00am, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Hillview Funeral Chapels in Newman followed by a Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joachims Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery.
