Marvin Rose, a lifelong farmer and beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully in Modesto, California, on July 8, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on August 13, 1946, in Newman, California, Marvin was the oldest son of Manuel and Alice Rose. As the eldest son of eleven children, he embraced responsibility early in life and developed a strong work ethic that would define his character. He attended Orestimba High School, where he was an active member of the Future Farmers of America, laying the foundation for his lifelong passion for farming.
Marvin began farming at a young age and went on to become an avid and respected farmer in his adult life. His dedication to the land and his community was evident in everything he did. Beyond the fields, Marvin found joy in simple pleasures—he loved visiting casinos and frequently traveled to Mexico. He loved spending time with his large extended family and always brought laughter and warmth to the frequent family gatherings at the Rose Ranch.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Adrianne Colonico Rose and his siblings, Barbara Tosta, Joyce Murry, Melvin Rose, Shirley Buzbee, David Rose, Steven Rose, Mannie Rose, and Gary Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Alice Rose; his sister, Diane Rose and his brother, Richard Rose.
Marvin will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his love of farming, and his zest for life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Graveside service was held at 10:00am on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Hills Ferry Cemetery.
