Orestimba boys’ soccer battles through early stretch, sits at 2-1-2

NEWMAN — The Orestimba Warriors boys’ soccer team has endured a busy opening slate, mixing hard-fought draws with decisive wins to start the season 2-1-2.

The Warriors opened Nov. 21 against East Union, settling for a 1-1 draw behind a goal from Moises Ramirez. Later that same day, Orestimba edged Waterford 1-0 thanks to a game-winner from Bryant Lopez.

Orestimba returned to action Nov. 22, splitting results in tournament play. Summerville prevailed in a shootout, 8-7, after a scoreless regulation. The Warriors bounced back with a commanding 5-0 victory over Beyer, marking a welcome offensive surge after struggling to find the net in earlier contests.

On Nov. 25, Orestimba and Ceres played to another 1-1 draw, with Ramirez again providing the lone goal for the Warriors. Ramirez now has two goals this season.
