The Orestimba High flag football team continues to prove they’re a force to be reckoned with, notching back-to-back blowout wins over Ripon and Sonora to extend their winning streak to three games.
On Monday, the Warriors dismantled Ripon 32-6, marking their seventh win this season by more than 20 points. Ava Aguirre led the charge on the ground, racking up 76 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries, while Elena Vandernakker added 79 receiving yards to round out a sharp offensive performance.
Two days later, Orestimba showed no signs of slowing down. They rolled past Sonora 39-8, improving their season record to 14-2. The defense stole the spotlight, intercepting six passes in a relentless effort against the Wildcats. Salece Machado snagged two picks, Madelyn Perez continued her streak with another interception—her third straight game with one—and Imelda Beltran-Pelayo turned a turnover into points with a pick-six.
The Warriors have now won nine of their last ten games, averaging 34.7 points per contest during that stretch. Their dominance on both sides of the ball has become a defining trait, with eight of their victories coming by margins of 20 points or more.
Orestimba will look to keep the momentum going as they prepare for a high-stakes matchup against rival Escalon on Monday at 6:00 p.m. With inter-league play heating up, the Warriors are positioning themselves as serious contenders heading into the final stretch of the season.
