NEWMAN— Dust off your Doc Martens and dig out that vintage flannel—West Side Theatre is about to get loud. On Saturday, Oct. 25, the venue will host Flannel, a high-octane tribute band channeling the raw energy and angst of ’90s alt rock and grunge. The show runs from 8 to 10:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Flannel’s setlist reads like a mixtape from the golden age of distortion: Nirvana’s “Breed,” Pearl Jam’s “Alive,” Hole’s “Celebrity Skin,” and Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” are just the beginning. The band also dives into the broader alt-rock canon, covering hits from Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Foo Fighters, No Doubt, and Linkin Park.

Co-founded by bassist Chris Vines and vocalist Lauren Devine, Flannel is more than a cover band—it’s a full-throttle homage to the era that gave us ripped jeans, angst-filled anthems, and the Seattle sound. Chris brings thunder from the SoCal punk and ska scenes, while Lauren blends musical training with stage charisma, keeping the spirit of ’90s nostalgia alive.

The lineup includes powerhouse drummer Drew, whose beats have backed tribute acts like Corduroy and Stung; keyboardist Gil Friedman, whose classical chops elevate the band’s arrangements; lead guitarist Idan Zuckerman, a virtuoso steeped in Hendrix and grunge; and Greg Michael, whose vocals echo the grit of Eddie Vedder and Zack de la Rocha.

Tickets are available online at ticketleap.events. Expect a night of cathartic choruses, crunchy riffs, and communal headbanging—because in Newman, flannel isn’t just fashion. It’s a feeling.
