GUSTINE — The Gustine Historical Society welcomed more than 150 guests to its 24th annual Salad Bar Luncheon, a cherished community tradition and the organization’s primary fundraiser of the year.
Held to support the society’s wide-ranging programs, the event helps fund educational outreach, student field trips to the Gustine Museum, community events, and operational expenses for both the museum and The Wilbur and Irene Gomes History Center.
The luncheon is the heartbeat of the Society’s fundraising efforts, according to Mary Ann Bloom, president of the Gustine Historical Society, and serves as an example of how our community comes together to preserve and celebrate local history.
Special recognition was given to Karen Souza, vice president and Salad Bar Luncheon chairman, for her leadership in organizing the event. Gratitude also went to Mrs. Nan and Mrs. Lisa Bunker for assembling raffle baskets, Mrs. Julie Hazen and the Gustine Middle School leadership students for serving and cleanup, and Mrs. Tiffany Bloom and the 4-H students for setup and takedown.
Bloom extended heartfelt thanks to all Historical Society members who contributed homemade salads and cookies, and to everyone who played a role in making the luncheon a success. “To all who helped in any way—thank you for a job well done,” she said.
The Gustine Historical Society continues to serve as a vital link between past and present, and events like the Salad Bar Luncheon ensure that its mission remains strong for future generations.
