Newman Police Department

The Newman Police Department received 59 calls for service and reported 62 officer-initiated calls for a total of 121 incidents from Jan. 16 to Jan. 22.

The department opened seven cases and made three arrests, including one for being an unlicensed driver. The department issued seven traffic citations, one municipal code violation, two parking citations and one animal citation.

Arrests

Confidential Male, 29, of Modesto was arrested on Jan. 17 for battery on spouse (misd).
Juvenile Male, 15, of Patterson was arrested on Jan. 22 for possession of a box cutter at school (misd).

Gustine Police Department

The Gustine Police Department responded to a pair of incidents last week, including a reported burglary on the 100 block of Sycamore Avenue on Jan. 19. Officers cleared the call after completing their investigation. Two days later, police handled a vandalism report on the 600 block of Elm Avenue on Jan. 21, with the incident documented and the detail completed.
