Newman Police Department
The Newman Police Department received 63 calls for service and reported 120 officer-initiated calls for a total of 183 incidents from Oct. 3 to Oct. 9.
The department opened 18 cases and made 11 arrests. The department issued six traffic citations, one criminal citation, four parking citations and towed two vehicles.
Police investigate vandalism, two thefts
Newman police responded to three property-related incidents between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8, including a case of vandalism and two larcenies.
On Oct. 8, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Prince Road following a report of vandalism involving a grey Honda Civic. Rocks had been thrown at the vehicle, causing approximately $1,000 in damage to the rear passenger door and window.
Two thefts were also reported during the same period. On Oct. 4, an electric bicycle valued at $1,000 was stolen from in front of Nob Hill Foods on N Street. The bicycle is described as a black Aipas model. On Oct. 8, a Husky tool bag was reported missing from a work truck parked on the 1200 block of Yolo Street. The bag contained a DeWalt drill and drill bits, with an estimated loss of $500.

Arrests
Steve Carmona, 43, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 4 for warrant arrest – Stanislaus County (felony).
Geovan Garcia, 33, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 4 for felon in possession of tear gas (felony) and flash incarceration.
Jesus Trigueros Rodriguez, 38, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 4 for evade peace officer (felony), felon in possession of firearm (felony), carry loaded firearm in public (felony), felon in possession of ammunition (felony), possession of controlled substance while armed (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), possession of controlled substance (misdemeanor), unlicensed driver (misdemeanor), and warrant arrest – Stanislaus County (felony).
Alessandro Diaz Villanueva, 24, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 4 for shoplifting (misdemeanor), trespassing (misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
Confidential Male, 19, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 5 for possession of matter depicting sexual conduct of minor (felony), oral copulation with person under 18 (felony), and unlawful sex with minor (misdemeanor).
Antoinette Richardson, 28, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 5 for unlicensed driver (misdemeanor).
Alessandro Diaz Villanueva, 24, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 6 for possession of controlled substance (misdemeanor).
Confidential Female, 15, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 7 for criminal threats (felony), exhibit deadly weapon other than firearm (misdemeanor), and battery (misdemeanor).
Juvenile Male, 14, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 8 for vandalism (felony) and obstruct/resist peace officer (misdemeanor).
Zeferino Zamora Cornejo, 18, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 9 for unlicensed driver (misdemeanor).
Miguel Baires Ortiz, 35, of Newman was arrested on Oct. 9 for warrant arrest – Stanislaus County (misdemeanor).
Gustine Police Department
Gustine police respond to vandalism, alarm, and suspicious activity
Gustine police responded to several calls for service over the past week, including reports of vandalism, a bank alarm, and suspicious circumstances.
On Oct. 8, officers took a report of vandalism in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue. Details of the damage were not released, but the incident remains under investigation.
Two days earlier, on Oct. 6, police were dispatched to Tri Counties Bank on the 300 block of 5th Street following an alarm activation. The call was cleared as a dispatch record only, with no criminal activity reported.
On Oct. 7, officers investigated a report of suspicious circumstances near Hales Drive and Linden Avenue. The call was closed within 15 minutes with no further action required.
No arrests were reported in connection with these incidents.
Arrests
Miguel Angel Medina Ruiz, 42, was arrested on Oct. 4 at 9:42 p.m. in the area of Hwy 33 and Gun Club Road for child abuse likely to produce great bodily harm or death (felony), driving under the influence of alcohol (misdemeanor), and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher (misdemeanor).
