Gustine Unified School District posted mixed results on the 2025 California School Dashboard, with notable academic improvement but continued challenges in student attendance and campus climate.
The district earned green ratings—the secondhighest level—for both its graduation rate and college/career readiness, reflecting steady outcomes for high school students. Gustine Unified graduated 93.9% of its seniors, maintaining its rate from the prior year, while 43.2% of students met the state’s college or career preparation standards, an increase of 6.6 percentage points.
Academic indicators showed moderate progress. English language arts performance improved by 8.4 points, though students remain 62.7 points below standard, placing the district in the yellow band. Mathematics rose 4.5 points but remains 101.8 points below standard, earning an orange rating. Science results, reported for informational purposes, also landed in the yellow range.
English learners demonstrated measurable growth, with 44.6% making progress toward proficiency—up 6.1% from the previous year—placing the district in the yellow category for English Learner Progress.
The district’s most significant challenge continues to be chronic absenteeism, which worsened to 27.3% and received a red rating. All seven reported student groups also fell into the red band for absenteeism. Suspension rates increased as well, rising to 4.3% and earning an orange rating.
Local indicators—including parent engagement, implementation of academic standards, access to a broad course of study, and school climate surveys—all met state standards.
Gustine Unified serves 1,627 students, with 83.2% identified as socioeconomically disadvantaged and 34.4% classified as English learners.
