GUSTINE — The Gustine High flag football team experienced the full spectrum of highs and lows last week, swinging from a dominant shutout win to a tough road loss in just two days.

On Tuesday, the Reds lit up the scoreboard with a 56-0 victory over Delta Charter, snapping a five-game losing streak and securing their first home win of the season. The performance marked a season-high in scoring and gave Gustine a much-needed morale boost heading into Thursday’s matchup.

But the momentum didn’t carry over.

Facing the Riverbank Bruins on the road, Gustine’s offense stalled completely, suffering a 39-0 defeat. The shutout was a dramatic reversal from their previous outing and underscored the team’s ongoing struggle for consistency. The loss dropped the Reds to 2-10 on the season, with six defeats in their last seven games.

Riverbank, meanwhile, celebrated the end of their own four-game skid, improving to 5-12 with the win.

Gustine will look to regroup quickly as they prepare to host Millennium at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. With only a few games left in the season, the Reds are hoping to rediscover the spark that fueled their dominant win earlier in the week.
