NEWMAN, CA – The heart of downtown Newman was buzzing with activity for a couple of weeks this June, as the Newman Farmers Market concluded its vibrant run on Friday.
Despite the scorching heat, the community turned out in force to enjoy classic cars, delicious food, fresh produce, and a truly impressive display of local talent, all contributing to the unique charm of this extraordinary small town.
The Westside Auto Club rolled in with their gleaming classic cars, drawing admirers and adding a nostalgic touch to the market's atmosphere. Attendees also savored diverse offerings from an array of food trucks, while tables piled high with fresh fruits and vegetables offered a feast for the senses. Numerous vendors showcased their wares, contributing to the lively, bustling environment.
Among the dedicated vendors braving the summer sun was Ashlyn Alamo, a local entrepreneur rapidly making a name for herself across these small towns. Alamo featured her burgeoning hat-making company, The Sassy Brim, which appears to be gaining significant popularity. In addition to her custom headwear, Ashlyn also operates Ashlyn's Creations, a beloved small business known for its delectable cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and various baked goods. Her creative talents don't stop there; she's also the artist behind the striking sports posters frequently seen around Gustine and Newman. Alamo's diverse and creative ventures are clearly thriving.
Adding an extra layer of entertainment, the market also provided a stage for some remarkably talented young performers. A standout moment was the incredibly thoughtful dance performance by Warren and Cheyenne to the iconic "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," an amazing display of performing arts that captivated the crowd.
