Gustine police respond to assaults, burglary and vandalism during busy week

GUSTINE — Assault calls, a burglary investigation and a vandalism report were among the incidents handled by the Gustine Police Department between July 2 and July 9, according to weekly activity logs.

Officers responded July 7 to Harry P. Schmidt Park for a reported assault in the 700 block of Linden Avenue. The call came in at 8:12 p.m. and remained active for more than an hour before a report was taken.

Earlier in the week, police investigated a felony second‑degree burglary in the 1500 block of Via Alberti. The incident occurred at 2:19 a.m. on July 5 and involved violations of burglary and resisting an executive officer. A case report was filed.

Another assault call was logged July 7 at Pastime on 5th Street. Officers were dispatched at 7:43 p.m., though the incident was cleared minutes later as a dispatch‑only record.

Police also took a report for misdemeanor vandalism under $400 on July 4. The incident occurred at 11:51 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wallis Avenue.

The department continues to investigate the cases where reports were taken.
