Newman Police
The Newman Police Department received 63 calls for service and reported 136 officer-initiated calls for a total of 199 incidents from Feb. 2 to Feb. 8.
The department opened 24 cases and made 11 arrests. There were 30 traffic citations issued, two criminal citations, 10 parking citations and three animal citations. Two vehicles were towed.
Felony arrest
A compliance check on a Newman man on probation led to an apprehension by Newman Police K9 Gizmo of a suspect hiding under a trailer, the police department reported.
At 8:19 p.m. on Feb. 4, Officers Jantzen and Gil were conducting a probation compliance search in the 600 block of Fig Lane.
During the incident, a records check revealed a subject, Juan Marquez, 30, of Patterson, had a felony, no bail warrant for his arrest.
An officer heard a subject flee from a rear window of the residence. The subject hid under a trailer and refused to come out, even after several warnings that a K9 would be deployed.
K9 Gizmo was deployed and located Marquez hiding beneath a trailer. Marquez received medical treatment at an area hospital and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for his felony, no bail warrant and the fresh charge of delaying a peace officer.
Arrests
Paul Corralejo, 57, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 3 for a warrant.
Rodrigo Ledez Maguadarrama, 27, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 3 for possession of marijuana over 10 ounces.
Juan Marquez Jr., 30, of Patterson was arrested on Feb. 4 for a warrant and obstructing or resisting a peace officer.
Daniel Bar, 28, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 8 for possession of a controlled substance.
Robert Vincent, 65, of Newman was arrested on Feb. 8 for a warrant.

Arrests
Janet Lynn Todd, 55, was arrested at 4:51 p.m. Feb. 2 in the 2100 block of 2nd Street for battery.
Elijah Clayton Minton, 37, was arrested at 2:22 a.m. on Feb. 4 in the 300 block of 5th Street for disorderly conduct and obstructing and/or resisting an officer.
Everardo Araiza Noguez, 40, was arrested at 10:46 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue for forgery, committing mail theft and assist another to obtain DMV documents.
