NEWMAN – The Orestimba High boys volleyball team were looking to end its season with winning a set, if not a match.

But Big Valley Christian High and Hilmar High’s squads had the final call against the Warriors in Trans-Valley League action last week.

Here is a breakdown of those matches.

Big Valley 3, Orestimba 0

In Wednesday’s league finale in Modesto, Big Valley Christian won by the scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-19.

Ethan Costa had eight kills for Orestimba (2-10 in the TVL, 5-21 overall). He and teammate Cade Lobo each had an ace.

Lobo finished with 10 digs in the contest. Costa had five and Efron Gonzalez three.

Bryant Badong had seven assists.

Hilmar 3, Orestimba 0

The final scores and stats of the April 20 match were not available at press time.
