Following the conclusion of its 2026 track and field regular season, four Orestimba High track and field athletes were recently named in the Trans-Valley League honors.
The individual accolades were decided by an athlete recording the best time in an event among all participants in the TVL, according to League Commissioner Bob Lee.
Sophomore Israel Ramirez was the sole Warriors athlete on the boys all-league team as he recorded the best time in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.75 seconds. The league-best time in the event was the one that secured Ramirez a first-place in the TVL Varsity Championships meet on May 7.
Headlining the girls all-league for Orestimba is senior Marian Quevedo with league-best times in two events. In the 100-meter hurdles, Quevedo ran 14.84 seconds, a time she recorded in the TVL Varsity Championships. Later that same day, she won the 300-meter hurdles with a league-best time of 46.91 seconds.
Quevedo wasn’t the only athlete to earn a league honor from the varsity championships meet as Maddie Perez and Imelda Beltran were named the best jumpers in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.
Earlier in the afternoon, Perez leaped 16 feet, 10 inches to win the long jump event. After finishing in fourth place in the long jump, Beltran won the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 10 inches.
While the season is done for most teams and players, Quevedo and Ramirez will participate in one final meet when the two travel to Eugene, Ore. for the Nike Outdoor Trials from June 18 to June 22. Both athletes are the first in school program to qualify for the premier meet.
