Trine University gains new Thunder.

On March 4, class of 2024 Warrior, Sky Felber made a game-changing decision that not only solidified her academic future but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in her athletic journey. The Orestimba Warrior committed to Trine University, in Angola, IN., a university that blended with her passion for Sports Management and Volleyball.

The journey to finding the perfect university wasn’t just about academics. It was about aligning her education with her dreams of pursuing a career in sports.

“I loved playing volleyball throughout high school, and I realized that I want to keep going. Firstly, when I was looking into colleges, I found a school that was a good fit for my major,” said Felber.

Trine University was the ideal choice. Checking all the boxes for Felber’s anticipated major in Sports Management. But the decision became solid when she was offered a roster spot and opportunity to continue her volleyball journey with the university’s team.

“I looked at the volleyball program and turns out my aunt went there as well. And I visited, met with the coach and staff, then she offered me a spot on the team,” commented Felber.

Then Felber was welcomed to the Thunder. Her visit in early February changed the course of her academic career. She reflected on the surreal moment after officially laying ink to paper on March 4.

“My first year, the thought of playing in college was there. I never really thought that it would be happening. This is surreal,” said Felber.

Trine University not only represents an academic and athletic achievement for Felber, but also the importance of finding a place that aligns with one’s passion and goals. The Thunder just gained a small-town player, with big dreams, as big as her heart for the game of volleyball.
