NEWMAN — The Newman‑Crows Landing Unified School District has announced several administrative appointments ahead of the new school year, including new leadership at Orestimba High School, Yolo Middle School and Hunt Elementary.

Kristin Guynes has been selected as the new assistant principal at Orestimba High School. Guynes previously served as the district’s secondary program specialist in special education and has worked closely with students, staff and families. District officials said her experience and focus on positive learning environments made her a strong fit for the role.

At Yolo Middle School, Kasey Guillen has been named assistant principal. Guillen brings experience supporting students and families and is expected to help strengthen campus culture and academic support systems, the district said.

Hunt Elementary School will also see a leadership change, with Learning Director Julia Cope promoted to principal. Cope has worked at Hunt building relationships with students and staff and has been involved in academic planning and student‑success initiatives. The district said her commitment to the school community made her the right choice to lead the campus.

District officials said they look forward to the contributions each administrator will bring as schools prepare for the 2026‑27 year.
