GUSTINE — A deep roster of senior leadership paired with an energetic wave of young players has the Gustine High School girls volleyball program gearing up for a high‑intensity 2026 season.
The Reds spent the summer training three days a week beginning June 15, laying the foundation for what coaches expect to be a competitive fall. With school now in session, the team has shifted into its regular routine: practices on Mondays and Wednesdays, with Tuesdays and Thursdays reserved for game days.
The varsity squad sets a particularly high bar this year. All 12 players on the roster are seniors, bringing experience, chemistry and a shared focus on reaching the postseason.
“I’m excited working with these girls, they have a goal in mind, to make the playoffs,” Head Coach Solomona Laupua said.
The program’s future also looks bright. The junior varsity team features a young, enthusiastic group, including seven incoming freshmen eager to make an impact.
“I’m excited coaching this young JV team as well,” Laupua said. “The girls and I are excited to get this season started.”
