City of Newman Hosts Low-Cost Animal Clinic

The City of Newman will offer a low-cost animal clinic on Saturday, June 28, providing essential pet care services at affordable rates for local residents.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the L. J. Newman Memorial Center, located at 649 Orestimba Road.

Available services include:

  • Dog vaccines: Rabies ($10), DAPP (Free), Bordetella ($12)
  • Cat vaccines: FVRCP (Free), Rabies ($10)
  • Microchip: $10
  • Flea/Tick Treatment: $15
  • Dewormer: $5

A limited number of vouchers are available for senior citizens and low-income residents of the City of Newman on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of residency is required.

Newman Hosts Free Summer Movie Night Series at Sherman Park

The City of Newman will bring back its annual Summer Movie Night Series at Sherman Park, offering free outdoor screenings for residents to enjoy.

The 2025 lineup includes:

  • June 21: Moana 2
  • July 19: Sonic 3
  • August 16: Despicable Me 4

Sherman Park, located at 330 Cinnamon Teal Way, will open its snack bar at 7 p.m., with movies starting at 8 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for a comfortable viewing experience under the stars.

 

California State Parks Week

The Fourth Annual California State Parks Week is June 11 to June 15 and will include some celebrations in the Central Valley. Presented by California State ParksCalifornia State Parks FoundationParks California and Save the Redwoods League, this exciting celebration will feature special programs and activities highlighting the diversity of the nation’s largest state park system.

Upcoming Events at Gustine Library

The Gustine Library is offering a variety of engaging activities throughout June, bringing fun and creativity to the community.

On June 12 at 3 p.m., children ages 8-12 can participate in a Kids Game Session, where they’ll enjoy interactive gameplay in a friendly setting.

Teens can join in the excitement on June 17 at 4 p.m. for Teen Game Time, open to ages 13-19.

For animal lovers, Dixie’s Mobile Mini Farm will visit the library on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., giving attendees the chance to interact with adorable farm animals.

Creativity takes center stage with Teen Coloring on June 24 at 4 p.m., providing a relaxing space for artistic expression, followed by Adult Coloring on June 26 at 4 p.m., offering a stress-free way for grown-ups to unwind and explore their creativity.
