On September 20 at 3:54 p.m., the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a potential structure fire in a residential building near the 600 block of Banff Drive. On arrival, the homeowner stated that smoke was coming from the garage. The fire crew investigated and found a burnt table where an appliance battery was charging. No injuries were reported. The damage is unknown.

On September 22 at 8:34 a.m., the Newman Fire Station was dispatched for a wire down near the 1000 block of S Street. On arrival, fire crews found a communications wire hanging in the alley. The fire crews set up caution tape and notified the communications company. No injuries or damage to report.
