Filiberto Lara Zuniga, 48, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 18 for a Stanislaus County warrant.
Stephanie Ferreira, 45, of Hilmar was arrested on Sept. 18 for driving with a license suspended for DUI.
Jonathan Samperio, 29, of Victor was arrested on Sept. 18 for a Kings County warrant.
Luis Andrade, 46, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 19 for DUI, DUI .08 or more, and driving with a license suspended for DUI.
A confidential male, 38, of Hayward was arrested on Sept. 20 for domestic violence and child abuse.
Stacia Rose, 33, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 21 for disorderly conduct.
A juvenile female, 11, of Newman was arrested on Sept. 24 for battery.
Newman police respond to 144 incidents during busy week
NEWMAN — Newman police handled 144 incidents between Sept. 18 and Sept. 24, according to weekly department statistics, including nine arrests, one burglary and one assault.
Officers responded to 66 calls for service and initiated 78 additional contacts during the week. The department opened 17 cases and issued 17 traffic citations, four criminal citations and 18 parking citations. No vehicles were stolen or recovered, and no arson, robbery or motor‑vehicle theft cases were reported.
The week’s lone burglary occurred Sept. 21 in the 1100 block of T Street, where a victim reported items stolen from a flatbed trailer stored in a backyard. The entrance gate and battery box were found open, and five sets of 16‑foot transport chains and a towing hitch were missing. The case remains open.
Police also documented one vandalism tied to the same case, with damage estimated at $45, and one assault — a domestic violence incident reported Sept. 20.
The department recorded one DUI arrest during the week and reported no municipal or animal citations and no vehicles towed.
Gustine Police Department
Gustine police handle vandalism, assault and weapons cases during busy week
GUSTINE — Police responded to a series of calls between Sept. 18 and Sept. 24, including vandalism, assault, fraud, DUI and two felony weapons violations, according to department reports.
Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle on Sept. 21 in the 700 block of Linden Avenue near the Ed Peterson Shelter. The call was cleared after officers determined everything was OK.
A vandalism case was reported just after midnight on Sept. 22 at South and Ash avenues, where property had been defaced. The case was classified as a misdemeanor.
On Sept. 23, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Grove Avenue for a misdemeanor battery involving a spouse or dating partner.
Two felony weapons cases were reported on Sept. 24. The first occurred at 4:03 p.m. near Jensen Road and Lucerne Avenue and involved an assault with a deadly weapon. The second, reported at 5:19 p.m. in the 300 block of Meredith Avenue, involved a felon or prohibited person possessing a firearm and ammunition.
Earlier in the week, officers handled a DUI case on Sept. 19 in the 500 block of 4th Street. That same day, police responded to Richard’s Market in the 400 block of 6th Avenue for a fraud report involving the use of access card information.
The cases remain under investigation.
Arrests
Tyler Cody Fuller, 25, was arrested at 3:51 a.m. on Sept. 19 in the area of 5th Avenue and 6th Street for DUI alcohol and DUI alcohol/0.08 percent.
