TURLOCK — Jaelyn Amabile of Los Banos has been selected as the 2026 Dairy Princess for the California Milk Advisory Board’s District 4, earning the title during the June 18 contest held in Turlock.
Amabile, the daughter of John and Marisa Amabile, will represent one of the largest dairy districts in the state, covering 20 counties including Merced, Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Monterey, Sacramento and Santa Clara. As Dairy Princess, she will serve as an ambassador for California’s dairy industry and assist the CMAB with community relations throughout the year.
Amabile will be a senior at Los Banos High School this fall. She is active in the Los Banos FFA chapter, competing on the dairy judging team and showing dairy cattle. She also plays varsity golf, serves in Associated Student Body and has held the role of class treasurer. After graduation, she plans to study agricultural education at either Fresno State or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The contest also named an alternate Dairy Princess, Modesto High School senior Allison Marchy. Marchy, the daughter of John and Sarah Marchy, has shown dairy cattle at the Stanislaus County Fair and competes on Modesto FFA’s dairy judging team. She plays varsity basketball and softball and has served as a news anchor for the school’s student broadcast. She plans to pursue a degree in animal science and genetics.
Both Amabile and Marchy will spend the coming year speaking on behalf of the dairy industry at community events, school programs and agricultural functions. They will also attend a weeklong professional development training focused on public speaking, leadership, industry advocacy and business etiquette.
California remains the nation’s leading milk producer and ranks first in butter, ice cream and nonfat dry milk production. The state is second in cheese and yogurt production. Dairy products made with California milk carry the Real California Milk seal, indicating they come from the state’s dairy farm families, who lead the nation in sustainable farming practices.
